I was diagnosed with type one diabetes (T1D) 44 years ago and hope to see cures for T1D in my lifetime.
JDRF is a major reason for that hope. As the world’s largest non-governmental funder of research into the causes of, and a cure for T1D, JDRF has helped bring new therapies, including the artificial pancreas and encapsulation, to clinical trials and the marketplace. Their influence, resources and focus make them a formidable ally to those working to cure T1D.
My involvement with JDRF started when I served on the board of the Piedmont Triad Chapter. Today, I’m the national volunteer partner for peer-to-peer fundraising, and a coach for the JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes program.
If you are interested in learning more about JDRF, its mission and how you can help, please contact me. I’ll be glad to share with you how they are giving hope to those living with T1D and to their loved ones, and changing lives.
Thank you for supporting an organization that makes a difference in the lives of so many.
